RUBIC Seminar – The Team Makes the Dream Work

Oct 10, 2024

On October 3. we gathered more than 60 people for the 2024 RUBIC Seminar, a networking event for the dedicated people involved in patient recruitment, clinical visits, sample preparation, and data analysis as well as other colleagues in contact with RUBIC in their daily work. It was amazing to witness the passion and strength of the collaboration around the recruitment to the RUBIC BioBank and the width of the research connected to the data and samples. Every member of the RUBIC team has contributed to where we stand today—and it’s truly a collective effort.

At the seminar we started of with the history, overall status and future perspective of RUBIC. After which RUBIC researchers and clinicians shared insights in ongoing research projects. Yvonne G talked about “Prostate Specific Antigen testning of RUBIC-men”, Laura SH  shared information on “The first 1000 Danish men – Semen quality and Cardiometabolic health”,  Aleksander G gave insights on “Spermie-DNA-Fragmentation”, and Ann Holm shared information of the “Psychosocial aspects of infertilitet”. To finish the session ongoing research Henriette SN shared the status of her work on “The Microbiome in RUBIC”.

The seminar ended with a sneak peak to the future research projects where Sandra T talked about “The effect of Endocrine disrupting substances on fertilitet” and she emphasized the power of the data from RUBIC which covers both men, women and couples -we have it all and that is truely unique! Marie Louise G closed the research talks with her upcoming research project looking into how exposure to paracetamol during IVF treatment is associated with the treatment outcome.

It was such a pleasure to facilitate and host the event and to witness the enthusiasm for more collaboration and deeper conversation. To all presenters and everyone who joined the seminar: Thank you for pushing the boundaries, this is just the beginning. The future is bright, and we’re ready to take it on.
