Innovation platform
Innovation projecteHealth support to improve the care process for infertility
Existing digital applications for infertility care are primarily designed for women and often lack integration with the healthcare system.
Objective
This project aims to bridge that gap by developing a strong theoretical framework and a deep understanding of the challenges faced by infertile couples. This foundation will guide the creation of science-based, reliable content for an eHealth platform and mobile application that supports both patients and their partners – ensuring a more inclusive, informed, and connected fertility care experience.
Unlike current solutions, this user-centered eHealth platform will be developed in collaboration with healthcare professionals, allowing for seamless integration with fertility treatments and patient support services. Its key features will be:
-
- Equitable Support for Patients and Couples: A platform that recognizes both partners’ roles in the fertility journey, promoting shared decision-making and emotional support.
- Reduction of Stress and Mental Health Burdens: Infertility treatments can be emotionally challenging; this platform will provide guidance, reassurance, and mental health resources to help individuals cope.
- Comprehensive Information and Tools: Patients will have direct access to reliable medical information, step-by-step guidance on fertility investigation and treatment, and practical tools to manage appointments, results, and treatment schedules.
Potential Impact
By improving patient experience, engagement, and access to fertility care, this eHealth innovation has the potential to transform how infertility treatments are navigated, making the process more efficient, less stressful, and more equitable for all individuals and couples undergoing fertility treatment.
