Did you know that over 99% of all eggs in a woman’s ovaries are lost – and that ovaries are among the fastest ageing organs in the body? Fertility has biological limits, and a woman’s egg reserve is already established before birth.

Come and see an ovary with your own eyes! And join us to talk about fertility, research and the future – including why fertility is not just a private matter, but a societal issue that calls for more innovation.

We look forward to meeting partners and stakeholders and we are fortunate to be joined by Stine Gry Kristesen from Rigshospitalet, who is leading one of ReproUnion’s seven innovation projects. This project aims to improve a solution for those who cannot receive hormone treatments, by developing a breakthrough method in which eggs are retrieved and matured in the laboratory, a process known as in vitro maturation (IVM) – already widely used in other mammals.

By advancing IVM for human eggs, this innovation has the potential to drastically reduce treatment costs and expand access to fertility care for a broader population. The collaboration also involves Lund University and you can find out more about the combined working group HERE.
