A warm farewell to Chairman Jens Sønksen, who has left the ReproUnion Executive Board
At the General Assembly in June ReproUnion’s management announced that Jens Sønksen had stepped down from his role as Chairman at the end of the first accounting period in ReproUnion 2.0. In recent years, Jens Sønksen has become increasingly busy – in 2017 he was elected Adjunct Secretary General for the European Association of Urology (EAU). Jens Sønksen shares a few perspectives on the ReproUnion collaboration.

Dr Stormlund wins award for her presentation of the ReproUnion supported study “Freeze-all versus fresh embryo transfer in ART”
Dr Sasha Stormlund not only impressed the audience but also received ESHRE’s Clinical Science Award for her oral presentation showing that success rates after freezing all embryos for later transfer is no better than with fresh transfers. The study was carried out with funding from ReproUnion 1.0.

Dr Tøttenborg reported from ESHRE about the effect of paternal smoking on semen quality of adult sons
Preliminary results from a large population study based on the Danish National Birth Cohort has found that paternal smoking is associated with lower total sperm counts and sperm concentrations. The study was carried out with funding from ReproUnion 1.0 and the results were presented by at the 35th Annual Meeting of ESHRE in Vienna end of June.
