Dr Tøttenborg reported from ESHRE about the effect of paternal smoking on semen quality of adult sons
Preliminary results from a large population study based on the Danish National Birth Cohort has found that paternal smoking is associated with lower total sperm counts and sperm concentrations. The study was carried out with funding from ReproUnion 1.0 and the results were presented by at the 35th Annual Meeting of ESHRE in Vienna end of June.

The large cohort study confirms small added obstetric risk from transfer of longer developed embryos in IVF and questions if blastocyst transfer should still be encouraged at IVF clinics. Dr Anne Lærke Spangmose presented the results on the first morning of the 35th Annual Meeting of ESHRE in Vienna.
