ReproUnion among finalists for the Swedish Athena Award

Aug 5, 2019

In 2019 the Athena Award will for the 11th time acknowledge best practice examples of clinical research, where hospitals, academia and industry collaborate to develop new treatments, improve prevention and/or involve patients more.

ReproUnion is competing with 6 other finalists to demonstrate the above-mentioned triple-helix collaboration and how the project is indeed aimed at solving major challenges within reproductive medicine for the benefit of patients and the healthcare sector.

The winner of the 150.000 SEK Athena research grant will be announced in the autumn and the jury will consider six criteria: medical benefits and urgency, scientific quality, health economic benefits and degree of innovation and triple-helix-collaboration.

It is VINNOVA and Dagens Medicin who are behind the award of an individual or group of scientists, who are significantly contributing to enhance clinical research in Sweden. Further supporters are Forte, LIF, Swedish Medtech as well as the Swedish Municipalities (SKL) and the Swedish Research Council.
